About Me

My literary interest are diverse and range from Gothic horror to historical New Adult novels. My first forays into fiction were period pieces set in 19th century New England that celebrated my love of the Gothic. They are dark tales of death, rebirth, filled with chills and thrills.

The shadowy world of clandestine sex clubs, and the scorching encounters between a powerful protagonist and liberated heroine are some of the provocative elements in The New Orleans Hothouse , my debut novel, an erotic romance set in the noir splendor of 1950s’ New Orleans. Published by Loose Id, The New Orleans Hothouse is an explicit glimpse at the carnal underworld of New Orleans told in the first person from a male point of view.

My Hollywood novel, Mitzi of the Ritz, grew out of my childhood passion for classic movies, Broadway’s grand movie palaces and the motion picture studios that helped make Los Angeles great. Mitzi of the Ritz details the adventures of a spunky young woman in Los Angeles during the Great Depression and is a bouquet to Los Angeles, the film industry, and the men and women who created it.

I’ve spent much of my writing career a lifestyle and entertainment journalist in print, on-line, and on radio. Along with Dr. Caroline de Costa, I co-authored a biography of Sarah Bernhardt and Dr. Samuel Pozzi, The Diva and Doctor God. Caroline and I also collaborated on a well-received article for the prestigious British publication, History Today, and two articles published by The Lancet. I collaborated on The Soul of Los Angeles, a history of African Americans in Los Angeles published by the Los Angeles Convention Bureau. I’m a member of Romance Writers of America (RWA) and the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, (SCBWI). Thank you for joining me in my journey.
